چکیده

Abstract With the increased incidence and recognition, ulcerative colitis (UC) has become a global public health problem in world. Although many immunosuppressant biological drugs have been used for UC treatment, cure rate is still very low. It necessary to find some safe long-term medicine cure. Recently, Chinese traditional herb Danshen investigated treatment of UC. However, it limitation that active components are not easily absorbed by human body. Probiotics could convert macromolecules into smaller molecules facilitate absorption. Thus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus (F-B4-1) Bacillus subtillis Natto (F-A7-1) were screened ferment this study. The fermented products gavaged dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced model mice. had better results attenuate symptoms DSS-induced after with F-B4-1 F-A7-1. Loss body weight disease activity index (DAI) reduced. abnormally short colon lengths colonic damage recovered. And inhibitory effect than itself on pro-inflammatory cytokine expression during indicated compared Danshen, relieved mice more effectively. probiotics might be an effective clinic stage future.

Calycosin attenuates dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced experimental colitis

Objective(s):Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) results from dysregulation of intestinal mucosal immunity. It is an incurable disease that affects millions of people worldwide. Developing new strategies for the treatment of colitis has been a major challenge. Here, we report the effect of calycosin, a plant-derived flavonoid, in successfully managing colitis in murine model. Material and Methods:...

Therapeutic effect of imiquimod on dextran sulfate sodium-induced ulcerative colitis in mice

BACKGROUND Imiquimod is a Toll-like receptor-7 agonist that regulates immunity and can be used as an immune adjuvant. Ulcerative colitis has a close correlation with immune disorder. AIM To investigate the therapeutic effect of imiquimod on dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis and explore the underlying mechanisms. METHODS C57BL/6J C57 mice received 3% DSS for 7 days to induce ulcer...

Ascorbic acid ameliorates oxidative stress and inflammation in dextran sulfate sodium-induced ulcerative colitis in mice.

Ascorbic acid (AA) has been shown to exert beneficial effects, including mitigating oxidative stress and inhibiting inflammation. However, the preventative effect of vitamin C in chronic inflammatory diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) remains unclear. In our study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of AA and possible mechanism involved in inhibiting dextran sulfate sodiu...

Allicin Alleviates Dextran Sodium Sulfate- (DSS-) Induced Ulcerative Colitis in BALB/c Mice

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of allicin (10 mg/kg body weight, orally) in an experimental murine model of UC by administering 2.5% dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) in drinking water to BALB/c mice. DSS-induced mice presented reduced body weight, which was improved by allicin administration. We noted increases in CD68 expression, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activities, and Malonal...

Bortezomib protects against dextran sulfate sodium-induced ulcerative colitis in mice

Bortezomib, a first‑in‑class proteasome inhibitor, is a standard method of treatment in multiple myeloma. In the present study, the therapeutic effect of bortezomib was evaluated in an ulcerative colitis model induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) in mice, and the mechanism of action was also investigated. Mice were administered with 3% DSS drinking water for 7 consecutive days and then they ...
